As a while, Wizzrobes are infamous for their natural talent for offensive [[:Category:Spells|spells]], and their strong preference for wearing hooded robes in virtually all situations.  Their magical skills are the stuff of rumor or legend, although this is in part due to the race's extreme rarity and reclusive nature.  Wizzrobes come in two primary forms.  The first is the more common avian Wizzrobes, who were magically transformed from small birds before growing into an intelligent, capable, and adult humanoid form over the course of 15 to 20 years.  The second, less common are Hylian-Wizzrobes, who were magically transformed from [[Hylian]]s or a similar race, struck comatose for several days before being awakened as a mutated magical creature with a high chance of insanity or altered personality.
 
 
 
Avian Wizzrobes hold themselves high for their magical prowess and knowledge, often haughty in their superiority, and tend to avoid other 'lesser' races in favor of spending more time with their magically-gifted brethren.  Much like unwinged [[Rito]], they have feathered bodies and avian faces, yet take the shape of a humanoid.  The exact size and style of the Wizzrobe's body depends on what species of bird from which it was born.
 
 
 
Hylian-Wizzrobes are so named because their resemble relatively old, androgynous Hylians regardless of their original race or sex.  Unlike Hylians, they tend to have bizarrely colored skin, and are prone to misshapen facial features.  The sheer insanity common to Hylian-Wizzrobes tends to give them short lives.  The rare few who live with sanity are rarely accepted by Avian Wizzrobes, or by their former race.  Nonetheless, they still retain the magical skill and intelligence characteristic of their more confident cousins.
 
 
 
A Wizzrobe begins with a [[PWC]] of 1/3/1, having a 3 in Wisdom.  This starting PWC can be defied by using the [[Exception]] [[racial perk]] during character creation, but even with it, a Wizzrobe can never be created with a Wisdom below 2.
 
 
 
A Wizzrobe has an innate racial perk called [[Wizzrobe's Talent]], representing the race's natural affinity for [[:Category:Offensive Intent|offensive]] [[:Category:Spells|spells]], but makes it more difficult for them to learn [[:Category:Techniques|techniques]].  In addition to this, a Wizzrobe character can have up to three additional [[racial perk]]s of choice.  Aside from the universal perks available to every race, a Wizzrobe can also choose from:

Similar to [[Darknut]]s, Wizzrobes are created primarily from magic.  Instead of being manufactured out of thin air like a Darknut, however, Wizzrobes are created by twisting already living creatures into a Wizzrobe.  The fundamental principles used to create both races are nearly identical, as a different form of the same powerful spell used to create Darknut is modified only slightly to twist a creature into a Wizzrobe.
 
 
 
By targeting the spell at a living being, usually a small animal, the caster of this spell causes the target to mutate and grow into a new form.  After much experimentation, it was found that small birds yield the best results, with most other animals yielding comparatively stupid or useless monsters--if they even survive the process at all.
 
 
 
As a result, most Wizzrobes are spawned from simple, small birds. The mutation process is long and slow, similar to the life cycle of a Hylian.  A Wizzrobe is considered to be ‘born’ when the spell is first cast, but is not fully sentient or even functional for several more years.  A Wizzrobe will begin speaking and walking by the age of three, is considered an adolescent by ten, and fully adult at fifteen.  Over a period of fifteen years, the bird will gradually change form and adopt a bipedal body with functioning arms.  The exact appearance depends on the type of bird used, so Wizzrobes vary widely in plumage, size, and coloration. 
 
 
 
Wizzrobes created in this fashion will typically live as long as the average Hylian.  However, since Wizzrobes are still created from magic, they are sterile and may not reproduce in the typical fashion.  Although they are created from gendered animals, Wizzrobes have no innate gender, and no secondary sexual characteristics. Their voices vary depending on the bird used to create them, but are typically high pitched and often have a sing-song quality, devoid of any qualities specific to one sex.  Most Wizzrobes adopt a gender of their choice, but some do not.
 
 
 
The process is inefficient at first glance, but Wizzrobes have two major advantages over Darknuts which are linked to each other: they can always use magic, and as a result, Wizzrobes can reproduce. Wizzrobes seeking disciples or offspring need only cast the proper spell on a small bird, and the bird will develop into another functional Wizzrobe.
 
 
 
Aside from avian Wizzrobes, there is a second prominent from of this race.  This secondary variety is less common, and arguably tends to be less less successful.  These variants are created by targeting the spell at an adult sapient; usually a [[Hylian]].  Compared to targeting a small bird, choosing a Hylian has both advantages and disadvantages.  Instead of years, a Hylian's transformation into a Wizzrobe only takes a few days--during which period it is usually comatose.  In exchange, nearly every Wizzrobe made this way comes out insane, incoherent, or otherwise mentally unstable.  Regardless of the original gender or race, sapient Wizzrobes invariably appear as old, androgynous Hylians with strangely colored skin, who usually have unsightly physical mutations on their face or head.  Those that are not driven completely insane by the process will find themselves just as sterile as any other Wizzrobe.

Wizzrobes have relatively little collective society.  Although some have existed prior to Ganon's invasion, it is unknown how far back their history goes, nor where it begins.  Unlike their [[Darknut]] cousins, avian Wizzrobes have developed their own culture to some extent, thanks in large part to their ability to autonomously create more of their own kind.  Nearly all members of this race are literally born to be interested in studying magic, and as such prefer to live in isolated colleges or small sects dedicated to this pursuit.  Wizzrobes can occasionally be found living among other monster races or other shady locales, such as [[Monster Village]] or [[Forsaken Fortress]]. 
 
 
 
Much like Darknuts, numerous Wizzrobes were created specifically for use in [[Ganon]]'s army.  Unlike Darknuts, neither variety of Wizzrobe was widely used, and as such their population is assumed to be quite low.  Not only are Wizzrobes more difficult to create properly, but they are not as inherently obedient.  Wizzrobes often attribute this to their intelligence and free will, while Darknuts simply hold them as disloyal cowards who are flaky at best.  Despite their similar origins and complimenting strengths, this fundamental difference traditionally puts the two races at odds.
 
 
 
Wizzrobes not created by Ganon's forces are most often created by other Wizzrobes.  Although members of this rare don't have an inherent desire to parent, they do yearn to pass on their knowledge to a new generation, and may appreciate like-minded company in a world full of 'lesser' people.  Most avian Wizzrobes will create at least one more of their race in a lifetime.  These 'free' avian Wizzrobes, without the grasp of Ganon or other controlling forces, tend to seek out and recruit more of their kind into what exists of avian Wizzrobe society.  Not only does this foster companionship, but it further enhances magical study for everyone involved.
 
 
 
Communities of avian Wizzrobes tend to be very secretive and reclusive, as they rarely have much need or desire to interact with 'lesser' races not as magically gifted as they are.  As such, Wizzrobe sects extremely hard to find, especially for those not of the race.
 
 
 
Even among monsters, Wizzrobes are both valued for their magical prowess, and feared for their tendency towards insanity.  Although Wizzrobes themselves are instantly aware of the difference between avian and Hylian varieties, unknowing races may simply see a magical person wearing a robe and assume the worst.
 
  
Hylian-Wizzrobes are less common even than avian Wizzrobes.  They are most often encountered alone in isolated, dark locations far from society, shunned both by their original race and by avian Wizzrobes.  Those who aren't already insane are prone to going mad from loneliness.  There are the rare few Hylian-Wizzrobes who retain sanity, or are clever enough to appear that way.  These fortunate few may try to merge back into mainstream Hyrulean society, or attempt to join fellow Wizzrobes.  In either case, a disguise of mundane or magical means is almost mandatory.
 
  
Both forms of Wizzrobes are well-known for their preference for wearing robes.  They favor this sort of garb, as it allows their [[Magic Power|magic power]] to be unleashed to its fullest potential.  Hylian-Wizzrobes in particular are likely wear the largest of hooded robes to help hide their mutations and odd-colored skin.

Wizzrobe is a playable race on Hyrule Castle. As one of the seven elite races, a player must acquire a Race License specifically for this race to create a Wizzrobe character. As one of the "monster" races, beings of this race are traditionally abhorred by Hylians, may be attacked on sight, and are generally not allowed anywhere near the settlements in Northern Hyrule, nor in Ruto.

Canonically, Wizzrobes debuted in the original Legend of Zelda, and have recurred in numerous games in the Zelda series.
