Sense is a defensive trait which is always active, like a sixth sense. Those with this ability can automatically detect the presence of and vague location of other living creatures purely by instinct, particularly those who are dangerous or intent on doing the user harm. The range of this sense is roughly 5 meters (or 15 feet), and penetrates all forms of barriers, even those which deflect magic.

A racial perk for Hylians, Tiny Fairies, and Tokays. As such, a member of one of three races can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If one of them chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed price.

Augment

The user can gain the Sense Species augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. An individual with this augment is capable of not only detecting a presence, but also identifying the race or species of that presence, assuming the user has prior knowledge of the race or species to be identified.

Trivia

• The Sense treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Ocarina of Time. In this game, the music noticeably changes whenever an enemy draws near, even an enemy cannot be seen or otherwise detected.
• The concept of the augment, Sense Species, is attributed to Quill, one of Hyrule Castle's members.
