Normally, a Stallion Statuette appears as a small statue of a horse, camel, or other mount so small it can easily fit in the palm of a Hylian child. When the statuette is stood on solid ground, and a special word or phrase is spoken, the statuette quickly grows to the size of a full mount in a matter of seconds. It cannot grow if physical obstructions prevent it from doing so. It becomes what for all intents and purposes looks, behaves, and functions like a living mount. Even other treasures treat it as being alive, however, it never needs to eat or sleep. The mount is trained to be ridden, and tends to have a slight affection for whoever summoned it. While a being is in physical contact with the mount, uttering the phrase again will cause it to return to its statuette form.

In a way, so long as the mount is in statuette form, the mount is in a sort of suspended life. The same statuette will always return the same mount--and so it can learn and be trained like any normal mount. If the statuette is broken or the mount dies, the item becomes inoperable.

Trivia

  • Horse Call and Epona's Song can be used to call a specific mount from any distance, including a Stallion Statuette.
  • The Stallion Statuette treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
