Wing Tunic is a versatile item which is as rare as it is prized, notable for enabling its wearer to fly. It normally appears as a tunic of a brown or dull-orange color, with a design on the back which resembles a pair of wings. It can take the shape of other garments, but is always a piece of clothing which is worn on the torso.

While the Wing Tunic is worn, the wearer can activate it at will, though the tunic may require a certain pose or certain words to be spoken. Regardless, once activated, the tunic sprouts a pair of giant wings. The form these wings take vary with the tunic, ranging in color and shape, but are most commonly feathered bird wings. These wings tend to be incredibly large, with a full wingspan often at least thrice the user's height. The wings are completely under the control of the wearer, flying as easily and as instinctually as their own limbs. No practice is necessary to glide, glide, or even hover in place.

Notably, creatures with Winged Flight are able to fly faster than the wearer of a Wing Tunic, and are generally able to carry more weight. Although the wearer of the Wing Tunic can fly at decent speeds, they generally cannot sustain flight while carrying heavy loads, or even while wearing metallic armor--unless such armor is composed of a material such as Litonium. Gorons, Lynels, and most Darknuts have particular difficulty with Wing Tunic due to their weight, and may be unable to benefit from flight without assistance from another treasure, such as a Gnat Hat.

Despite being able to sustain flight, these wings are notably fragile. Being directly stuck with a sturdy attack will cause them to shrink, then disappear. Sustaining their presence for 10 minutes or more will similarly cause them to shrink, then disappear. The user is also able to cause them to disappear at will. Once the wings disappear for any reason, they cannot be manifested again for at least one minute.

Perpetual Wings can be gained simultaneously with the original treasure, or separately at a later time. A Wing Tunic with this augment is able to have its wing sustained indefinitely, well beyond the normal 10 minute period. They are also able to sustain damage as well as the wings of Rito or Aeralfos.
