A Black Tunic, also known as Black Armor, generally appears as a midnight-black tunic or suit of armor sized appropriately for its intended wearer. Whoever wears it will be mostly protected from Shadow-based damage, and darkness in general. A skilled Outfitter can create Black Armor from a single supply of Evil Crystals.
Specifically, whoever wears Black Armor will take less than half the damage from Shadow-based attacks. This can effectively negate the Shadow Weakness held by Fairies, or other, similar weaknesses.
Trivia
- Similar tunics can protect from other dangers, like the Black Tunic protects from shadow. Specifically, the Goron Tunic protects from heat, the Zora Tunic protects from water, the Yeti Tunic protects from cold, and the Golden Tunic protects from Light damage.
- The Black Tunic treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
