Fairy Fountain is a powerful healing spell, which can only be learned or used if the user is a Great Fairy, or if the user has a Specialty in either the Heal or Water fields.

Assuming the user doesn't have the appropriate Specialty, the user can only learn this spell while in the form of a Great Fairy. If the user is able to transform into a different race, this spell can only be used while the user is in the form of a Great Fairy. Accordingly, any being who isn't natively a Great Fairy can learn and use this spell if they can transform into a Great Fairy.

To use this spell, the user must touch a body of water, and pour her magical power into it. This spell will affect a limited amount of water--no more than a small pond's worth. Any living being, including the user herself, will rapidly and magically heal all injuries so long as the beings remain in contact with the enchanted body of water. This will heal all forms of cuts, bruises, burns, broken bones, and the like, usually in a matter of seconds. The enchanted water cannot remove poisons, diseases, curses, or other abnormal afflictions.

The body of water will remain enchanted for so long as the user touches it or remains within arm's reach of it. Once the user loses contact, the water will begin to return to normal. After a few minutes, the water will return to normal, unless the user touches it again. Alteratively, the caster can at will choose to end the water's enchantment prematurely. Water separated from the main body of water will not retain its healing properties (unless affected by the spell Rejuvenation).

The user can normally create a Fairy Fountain only once per day. Before this spell can be used again, the caster must get a full night's rest.

Trivia

  • Rejuvenation similarly turns normal water into healing water, but only affects a small amount.
  • Life can also heal injuries, and does so repeatedly, but is a much more expensive, Major spell.
  • The Fairy Fountain treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Legend of Zelda. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
