Great Ascension is a treasure that can only be acquired by a Tiny Fairy, and only if the player has a Race License for the Great Fairy race. Though rare, it is possible for a tiny fairy to achieve enough magical prowess, influence, or luck to ascend from the status of a Tiny Fairy to that of a Great Fairy. This treasure represents this change, which permanently alters the user's race.

In gaining this perk, the user's Fairy Glow trait is replaced with Fairy Magic. In addition, she loses access to her Winged Flight, but may gain in its place any Great Fairy racial perk, so long as the perk gained does not occupy two "slots."

As part of this change, the user's PWC increases as is appropriate to her new race. She is no longer considered a Tiny Fairy for the purpose of any treasures, and is instead now considered a Great Fairy. Among other possibilities, this affects the cost of treasures which count as racial perks for her.

Trivia

• For a similar cost, any race can permanently change into another with a Curse of Changed Race. Unlike Great Ascension, it does not grant the user a new racial perk. If desired, this curse could be used to reverse the effects of Great Ascension.
• A member of any race can change into another race temporarily and repeatedly using a Transformation Mask. This treasure is more costly, however.
