Ravio's Bracelet appears as an enigmatic bracer of a bronze or gold-like material, with a violet-colored feature as its centerpiece. Supposedly, it originated from an inter-dimensional, violet-colored being known only as Ravio.

The magical effect of this item can be activated whenever the user's bracelet-wearing hand touches a considerably flat wall which is as wide as the wearer is tall. With a bit of focus, the wearer will abruptly be sucked into the wall in less than a second, becoming a flat "painting" on the wall's surface. The painting resembles the user, and cannot be removed by normal means. At will, the user can move horizontally across the wall as if he was walking, but cannot do anything else aside from exiting the wall. He cannot "walk" to areas of the wall which cannot support the (flat) dimensions of his form. Upon exiting, the user will transform back into his normal self. During both entering and exiting, there is a brief moment of forming or deforming where the user is defenseless.

Normally, the user can only stay as a "painting" for a brief period, which varies slightly from person to person, but lasts for about 1 minute. Like holding one's breath, if it's done for a considerable length of time, the user needs more time to recover before doing it again at such a length.

While a painting, the user is invulnerable to almost all conventional forms of attack. Anything which would destroy the wall to the point the user's painted form can't exist on the wall, however, would force him out, damage him, and exhaust his ability to become a painting. Similarly, blocking his exit (by placing a large object or hazard at his only exit point), could crush his body or otherwise damage it when time runs out.

Trivia

  • A more expensive spell known as Flatten can be used to achieve the same effect, but affect others as well as oneself.
  • The Ravio's Bracelet treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in A Link Between Worlds. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
