Yaka Whistle is an offensive spell, useful for archers or other combatants who utilize ranged weaponry.
Once the caster fires an arrow, fires a bolt, or throws a similarly-sized projectile, the caster is able to control the ammunition's trajectory via whistling. Notably, this cannot affect projectiles produced by treasures, but can affect projectiles that are treasures, such as a Boomerang.
Different frequencies and patterns of whistling are used to adjust direction. Extremely skilled users are able to turn the projectile back in the opposite direction from which it came. It is impossible to cause the projectile to accelerate, or to turn in excess of 180 degrees. The user is unable to simultaneously affect multiple projectiles with Yaka Whistle.
Certain races, such as Deku Scrubs, are unable to whistle. These races are usually able to utilize other sounds in place of whistling, in order to cast Yaka Whistle. Alternatively, they may have somehow acquired an ability to magically whistle as part of this spell, but the feeling of whistling is usually foreign and uncomfortable for them. Regardless, the caster is unable to use this spell when he or she is unable to breathe or otherwise produce a whistling sound.
