Fairy Magic is a utility trait, and an innate racial perk for Great Fairies. As such, all Great Fairies innately must have this treasure, even if the treasure is undesired. No other races can obtain this perk.
Due to their innate prowess with magic, a Fairy can reduce the cost of any Defensive Spell or Utility Spell she earns as a treasure by 5 rupees, not to fall below 10 rupees. With Wisdom 5, for example, a character could normally acquire Life for 90 rupees. A Fairy could acquire it for 85 rupees.
The same power which grants a Fairy is magical prowess also imposes upon it a weakness, however. Any Fairy has an inherent weakness to Shadow-based damage, taking double the normal damage from such attacks. This weakness, however, can be overcome by using Black Armor or any protective gear crafted from Evil Crystals.
