Dominating Northern Hyrule northern edge are the majestic mountains of Snowhead. Unleashed by a violent eruption during the great freeze of Hyrule, these mountains are the tallest of the land, and even Death Mountain doesn’t reach the heights of the highest mountains of Snowhead. Year round these mountains are covered by snow which rests on the treeless mountainsides. Many of the mountains are jagged and unfriendly to hikers, however there are areas that are more hospitable.

Surrounding Snowhead Peak, the largest of these mountains, are vast, open, underground chambers. Quite recently, it was discovered that a race once believed to be a myth--Yeti--sparsely inhabit these caves. Though Yeti have kept their distance from other Hyruleans, relations between them and the Hylians of Hyrule have remained peaceful since their discovery.
