Fire Breath is an offensive fire spell, and a racial perk for Lizalfos. As such, a Lizalfos can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Lizalfos chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed cost. The natural physiology of the Lizalfos race enables them to use this technique easily. Because of this, a Lizalfos can treat Fire Breath as either a spell or technique. A Lizalfos with this ability is known as a Dinolfos.

To begin casting this spell, the user merely needs to take an extremely deep breath, usually taking more than a full second and a bending of the back. The user then exhales not mere air, but searing flames, which can usually travel a distance equal to approximately half the user's height, and last as long as the user can blow. Because of the requirement to breathe heavily, it is difficult to use this spell repeatedly in the midst of battle. The caster takes no damage from the flames he produces in this way, even if the flames are redirected back towards him.

If the user has a Specialty in Fire, he never needs to pay more than 40 rupees for this spell.

Trivia

  • Similar spells which use different elements include Ice Breath and Thunder Breath.
  • The Fire Breath treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Ocarina of Time. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
