The Tornado Rod is a magical item which can be used to create a peculiar vortex of wind. The rod's effect can only be activated with both feet on the ground, and the cane held over the wielder's head. With a bit of concentration, the rod abruptly produces a large cycline with visible, swirling green winds which briefly launch the rod and its wielder skyward. With this effect, a typical Hylian can reach heights of as high as 10 feet (or three meters) off the ground.
This cyclone simultaneously forces a strong gust to slash across anyone near the user when he uses it, causing them to potentially trip or stagger from the gust. Smaller light creatures such as Keese or Koroks may be flung away entirely. Generally, however, any capable fighter or monster that braces itself will not be harmed by the cyclone.
Trivia
- Other treasures can similarly heighten the user's jumping height, including Roc's Feather, Jump, Propel, and Cane of Pacci.
- The Tornado Rod treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in A Link Between Worlds. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
