Vapor Cloth itself appears as a gray cloth which constantly seems to be billowing, even in the lack of wind. A Weaponsmith or Outfitter can use this as a material in any one item they craft.
Normally, the affected item appears and acts no different than a normal item of its type. If viewed by a Lens of Truth, however, it will appear to be radiating a mist or fog. Furthermore, the item's effect can be activated whenever the wielder or wearer utters a specific word or phrase, such as "Vaporize." On this cue, the item abruptly transforms into a weightless mist or fog, which tends to slowly draw towards whoever last wielded or wore the item. Upon uttering the key phrase again, the mist returns to where it was last worn or wielded, and becomes solid once more. This rematerializing process generally takes less than a couple seconds, unless the mist is a long distance from its destination. This effect can be used to return a thrown weapon or disarmed weapon to the wielder's hand. Notably, the item always returns to where it was last wielded or worn, which can cause it to return to the hand of someone who stole it.
Trivia
- Phantasmal Flame can also be used by an outfitter to make an item that can become weightless.
- The Vapor Cloth (material) treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
