Glimmer Gold is a material which can be used by a Weaponsmith or Outfitter to craft any item they would otherwise be able to craft. Unworked Glimmer Gold itself appears as a pale-yellow metallic material which is extremely reflective, with a surface similar to a polished mirror. Although this material normally appears as a metal, it can be ground into a dye and used on cloth as well.
An item constructed with Glimmer Gold usually takes on a white, or off-white hue, if it is not otherwise colorized. Whenever the item firmly impacts against an object, it looses a bright flash so bright that it can easily disorient or distract a foe who gazes upon it or in its general direction. Unlike a Deku Nut Flash, this powder is generally not so bright that it is completely blinding or able to stun opponents, but can be used more easily, and can even be caused by an enemy's strike. Harder impacts generally create slightly brighter flashes.
Trivia
- This material can be seen as a counterpart to Mirror Silver, as both are precious metals with an uncanny ability to reflect or create light.
- A Lens of Truth can protect from the flashes of this material.
- The Glimmer Gold (material) treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
