If the Scarecrow's Song is played skillfully for at least 15 seconds, a friendly scarecrow will suddenly appear near the player, who is self-aware, intelligent, and capable of speech. He has a generally friendly and upbeat personality, but doesn't seem to have any special skills or impressive knowledge. The scarecrow isn't a fighter, being no stronger or heavier than straw, but he generally doesn't feel pain. He temporarily ceases to exist if he is set aflame, cut apart, or the player wanders a long distance away from him, disappearing as abruptly as he came. Should the user play the song again, the scarecrow will appear again, and will remember the player. In this way, the scarecrow never seems to age or truly die.

Different individuals can summon different scarecrows. One individual can only summon one scarecrow, however, even with several levels of Summon Power. Attempting to summon the scarecrow while he already exists will just cause him to vanish, then reappear at the new summon location.

The Scarecrow's Song treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Ocarina of Time. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
