Summon Power is a utility trait, which focuses on increasing one's ability to cast summoning spells. Summoners are usually Wizzrobes, but their methods, while esoteric, can be learned by anyone with the proper knowledge, skill, and magical talent. Any spellcaster can bring forth one weak or small creature, but maintaining several required specific training of one's ability to summon--one's Summon Power.
When you summon a creature, its continued state of existence occupies a summon level. For example, after casting a spell to summon a Floormaster, that Floormaster occupies one level for as long as it persists. It will continue to occupy a level until it is either dismissed by the caster, or dies. As long as it occupies that summon level, you cannot summon more creatures. If you had two summon levels, however, you would be able to maintain two summoned Floormasters (or even two separate species of creature, if each occupies one level). In this way, while creatures are summoned, the caster can usually maintain a number equal to his or her summon level.
With some particularly weak creatures, like Keese, the caster may be able to summon several creatures using only one summon level. By the same merit, some exceptionally strong creatures may occupy several levels.
It is assumed that any character has one summon level automatically. This treasure can be gained twice, to increase one's summon level to a maximum of three.
