A Goron Tunic, also known as Goron Armor or Red Tunic, appears as a red tunic sized appropriately for its intended wearer. Whoever wears it will be protected to a degree from flames and heat in general. A skilled Tailor can create a Goron Tunic from a single supply of Dodongo Hide.
Specifically, any part of the body shielded by the Goron Tunic will not catch aflame, nor will the Goron Tunic itself. The heat of the user's surroundings will be greatly reduced as well. To quantify this protection, it will effectively reduce any temperature above room temperature by approximately 90%. Since room temperature is about 70°F, the wearer can treat 300°F as if it was 93°F. (That is: 90% of 230°F is 23°F; 23°F is added to 70°F to determine the approximate temperature felt by the wearer, which in this case is 93°F. Using 90% decrease functions for both Fahrenheit and Celsius measurements of temperature.) The exact degree an individual can endure in Goron Tunic thus varies on his or her personal endurance.
As a side-effect, the wearer of a Goron Tunic will negate any Fire Weakness he or she would otherwise have. A Goron Tunic can be removed from its wearer, to wrap an object, to keep the object from suffering excessive heat or catching aflame.
Trivia
- Similar tunics can protect from dangers, like the Goron Tunic protects from heat. Specifically, the Zora Tunic protects from drowning, the Yeti Tunic protects from cold, the Black Tunic protects from Light damage, and the White Tunic protects from Shadow damage.
- The Goron Tunic treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Ocarina of Time. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
