Envine is a utility spell that can be cast by placing both of one's hands on any still object, including living creatures, and focusing for several seconds. So long as the object is attached to natural ground, vines will rapidly grow out of that ground and begin to entwine the target.

Although these vines grow extraordinarily fast compared to normal vines, they still only encroach a few inches (or a few centimeters) per minute. The vines themselves are particularly sturdy, and grow coarsely over the surface, but are otherwise mundane plants. They continue to grow until the object is completely covered, or they have reached a distance of about 30 feet (10 meters) from their starting point. After this point is reached, the vines cease growing, and become entirely normal flora. They can survive indefinitely so long as they have abundant nutrients and no outside forces destroy them.

If the target object is removed from the ground, the vines immediately cease growth. The vines also cease is they are cut or burned near the base.

This spell is particularly useful for creating gripping or climbing points on an otherwise smooth surface. It can also be used to tie up enemies that are already restrained, create firewood, provide structure to a teepee, or many other uses.

Trivia

  • Envine is one of several treasures that can cause abnormally rapid plant growth. Others include Mushsproing and Sapling's Song.
  • The Envine treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
