Nurse Puppet is a defensive spell with healing properties. To cast this spell, the caster focuses his magical energy to a leaf he holds in hand, then throws it forward. In a poof of smoke, the leaf abruptly transforms into a wooden marionette similar in size to the caster. This marionette appears to hang on strings, like a normal puppet, even though no such strings appear; because of this, it effectively is able to hover at a speed comparable to a jog. The marionette's face bears some freakish resemblence to the caster's. Its movements are unnatural, abrupt, and uncanny. This "creature" is not alive, but lacks the traits of an undead. It has a very simple mentality, as it will only move around as ordered, and cannot effectively attack, as its body is light and fragile.

A Nurse Puppet has two primary effects.

Firstly, while summoned, the caster can transfer minor wounds they have, such as scratches, bruises, sprains, and minor broken bones, onto the puppet. This effectively heals the caster while injuring the puppet. Though major injuries cannot be healed when transferring injuries this way, the puppet is rather durable and able to take on numerous injuries before breaking down.

Secondly, when the caster sustains injury while a Nurse Puppet is summoned, they can choose to automatically transfer the injury to the Nurse Puppet, effectively leaving themselves uninjured while the Nurse Puppet acts as a kind of magical shield. Even more serious injuries, such as lost limbs or injuries that would seriously damage the caster, may be transferred in this way. However, injuries transferred in this way are reflected effectively twice as severe on the puppet, and anything that would inflict severe damage will destroy the puppet. Fire-related damage and injuries transferred to the puppet are especially severe, and even minor injuries are generally enough to instantly destroy the puppet.

For every summon level the caster possesses, this spell may be cast once every 10 minutes once that slot is made available. For example, if a caster with two summon levels has one Nurse Puppet summoned, they are able to summon a second Nurse Puppet. If their summoned Nurse Puppet is destroyed or dismissed, they must wait 10 minutes to summon another Nurse Puppet in that level slot. However, they may still freely summon a Nurse Puppet in their second, previously available slot.

You always have at least one summon level. The number of summon levels you have represents how many summoned creatures you can simultaneously maintain. A summoned Nurse Puppet occupies one summon level, until it dies or is dismissed. In this way, the Nurse Puppet "fills" one of your summon levels. While your summon levels are completely filled in this way, you cannot summon any more creatures. You can gain more summon levels through the Summon Power treasure.

Trivia

This treasure is a Twist. It is a variant on a treasure, Leaf Puppet, modified by The Twister, and is not normally obtainable.
