Shock Socks or Zesty Zappies are a strange pair of footwear which normally take the form of magical socks, with horizontal stripes of yellow and green. Their effect can be toggled off and on at will, with a mere thought from the wearer.
While the socks are active, every step the user takes will spark the ground beneath it with electricity a split-second after the wearer's foot leaves the ground. For this reason, it is recommended the user wears nonconductive boots over the socks. Similarly, the user will shock any target he kicks, and his steps will momentarily electrify the ground even if walking on walls or ceilings.
Trivia
- A sufficiently skilled Outfitter can craft a pair of Shock Socks using 2 Shock Gems and 1 Nullrock.
- Freezing Footwear, Spicy Stockings, and Cobra Boots have a similar effect of damaging what the user steps on.
- The Shock Socks treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy. The better name is attributed to Nameless.
