Stone Skin is a defensive trait, and a innate racial perk for Gorons. As such, all Gorons innately must have this treasure, even if the treasure is undesired. Normally, no other races can obtain this treasure.

Most adult Gorons--through their diet of rocks, their unique physiology, and physical condition--have developed a skin surface akin to stone. This skin is incredibly hardy. At the extremities of his hands and feet, a Goron is virtually impervious to any form of heat or cold, but is more vulnerable near the center of his body, while still never being as vulnerable as a typical Hylian. A Goron's backside in particular can be as resilient as platemail, but the rest of his body can be damaged with most mundane forms of attack, taking only slightly less damage than a Hylian would. Finally, because of his hardy nature, a Goron has almost no need to breathe so long as he doesn't exert himself.

Despite all these benefits, this same skin renders a Goron incredibly heavy. Despite the race's strength, they have difficulty even carrying themselves, have a very low running speed, are virtually incapable of jumping, and have nearly no chance of being buoyant in water or any other liquid. To get anywhere at decent speed, a Goron usually must roll to get around, though needless to say, this lacks the precision of moving on one's feet.
