‘’’Wizzrobe’s Talent’’’ is an unusual treasure, as it represents a character’s magical and permanent transformation into a twisted creature commonly known as a “Wizzrobe.”
A Wizzrobe is a monstrous, magically mutated creature that has immense magical prowess, but suffers from physical decay, a generally grotesque appearance, and a supposed loss of sanity. Regardless of what their original race was, all Wizzrobes are abhorred by human races and especially by fairies, but are occasionally welcome among monsters. Infamously, Ganon recruited or created many Wizzrobes to be part of his invasion twenty years ago.
Although this treasure is not a racial perk, it is easier for certain races to acquire, and more difficult for others. A Hylian, Gerudo, Rito, Sheikah, or Garo can gain this treasure for 15 rupees less than normal. A Yeti, Tiny Fairy, Great Fairy, Hinox, or Lynel must pay an ‘’additional’’ 15 rupees to gain this treasure.
<-- Darknut was considered, but with Darknut’s Destiny, they’re already being punished if they go this route.
Despite being magical, Fairies are diametrically opposed to the twisted nature of Wizzrobes. Yeti, Hinox, and Lynel are mostly due to their size.
The Hylian-like races are an allusion to this treasure’s origins with Ancient Hylians, Rito are an allusion to tWW-style Wizzrobes, and Garo are just because they’re similar in being reclusive robed weirdos. -->
Prerequisites
To become a Wizzrobe, a character must meet the following requirements:
- The character must have a Wisdom score of 5.
- The character must have two levels of Magic Power; or one instance of Magic Power and one of Summon Power.
- The character must have learned at least two spells; or have learned Wizzwarp.
The transformation into a Wizzrobe is not something taken lightly, and not something done easily. It requires performing a magical ritual, the details of which are arcane and lost to time--even more ancient than the Old Kingdom, and perhaps even as old as Ancient Hylians. Just learning how to perform this ritual, and acquire the materials needed to perform it, could be a perilous and great quest in of itself.
It is widely known that any Wizzrobe is presumed to be insane and physically morose, so any individual seeking the transformation is likely to have either a deranged lust for magical power, or a resolute need to become more powerful.
Physiological Changes
stuff == limited sustenance, ‘survives off magic’ -- physically frail, decaying, generally appears to be dead or undead -- bizarrely-colored skin -- affects Rito in a unique way, usually transforming their faces into something freakishly Parrot-like
Despite their namesake, Wizzrobes do not uniformly wear robes. However, hooded robes do not hinder with one’s Magic Power, are able to hide the character’s sickly appearance, and are considered quintessential mage’s garb. Thus, most Wizzrobes choose to wear a robe.
Immediately upon becoming a Wizzrobe, the character may gain one of the following treasures for free:
- Magic Power
- Summon Power
- Ice
- Fire
- Magic Bolt
- Enchanter
- Illusionist
- Reflect
- Cane of Mago
- Spark Staff
- Green Potion
- Summon ChuChu
- Summon Like-Like
When gaining certain treasures, the character may obtain it at a cost 15 rupees less than what it would normally cost. In addition to the treasures listed above, this boon also affects:
- Any treasure aided by Magic Power
- Any treasure aided by Summon Power
- Red Potion
- Hover
- Magic Volley
- Thunder
- Transmogrification
- Wizzwarp
- Witch’s Broom
However, whenever the character would gain a Power-based treasure that is not a spell, it costs 15 rupees more than normal.
These cost alterations do not apply to augments nor materials.
