Magma Burst is a powerful offensive spell. To cast it, the user must place his palm facing downward in front of him, concentrating momentarily. One or two seconds afterward, an eruption of molten rock abruptly bursts up from the ground, splashing up to almost double the user's height, before settling into a smaller pool, and gradually cooling back into solid rock. When the spell is cast, the caster can designate it to travel forward by flicking his wrist in that direction, in which case it will splash forward in a mostly straight column reaching up to twice the user's height.
The caster himself is not protected from this burst of magma anymore than usual, making it potentially dangerous if the user lacks a means of nullifying heat damage.
This spell cannot function on surfaces not directly connected with the earth. For instance, it would fail if used on the surface of an icy lake or the floor of a boat.
Normally, this spell can be cast about once per minute. With one level of Magic Power, it can be cast once every 20 seconds or so. With two levels of Magic Power, it can be cast once every few seconds.
