Eyeglass Lake is a particularly massive body of freshwater in Southern Hyrule, southeast of the foreboding Tantari Desert. Its name derives from how it appears in the distance when approached from the north--a large pair of shimmering eyeglasses across the landscape. Indeed, the explorers who named it where grateful at the sight after the trek though the desert. The lake, and the rivers which from it, provide much needed life and vegetation to a particularly dry climate. The villages of Kakariko and Rauru relied on irrigation and feed from this reservoir, before being utterly destroyed by the forces of Ganon.

In recent years, a handful of Zora tribes have begun to inhabit the bottoms of this lake in small villages. As of yet, these settlements are tiny and sparse compared to the massive Zora populations of Lake Hylia, Moruge Swamp, and Great Bay.
