Located in Northern Hyrule, Darunia is traditionally a mining town, founded by early Hylian and Goron settlers. Nestled in the north eastern mountains of Hyrule, this quiet town enjoys the shelter of Woodfall and the mountains behind them. For centuries, Hylians and Gorons alike have mined the mountains of Darunia for precious metals such as Goron Iron, and many of the rupees that circulate Hyrule's economy today. Homes made of log and stone make up the landscape of Darunia, surrounded by thick trees that invade the town. The overall atmosphere of Darunia is very comfortable, and would bring peace to any traveler. Being secluded from the rest of Hyrule, separated by the Lost Woods and Lake Hylia, Darunia, has enjoyed a peaceful existence for as long as can be remembered. Despite its peaceful nature, Darunia is rumored to be the home to many thieves, though their crimes seem to occur not in the town proper, but solely in the Lost Woods.
