The Cane of Mago usually appears as an orange or brown wooden cane with a rounded tip, with length usually equal to the length of the wielder's arm. Occasionally, one may come in the form of a small orange or brown wand. In either case, this implement has both an offensive and defensive purpose.
This cane provides an offensive boon when casting Fire, Ice, Magic Bolt, Wind, Shadow Ball, or Holy Bolt from it; or when using Power Beam or Peril Beam from it. The created projectile will autonomously home in on its target, able to curve through the air as if pushed by an unseen wind. The projectile can only adjust from its original course by up to, roughly, 30 degrees. It can still be blocked or deflected by normal means.
When any of the aforementioned spells or techniques (to include any of their variants) are used against the wielder of this cane, the projectiles automatically are drawn to the cane's rounded tip, making them particularly easy to deflect. This remains true even if the projectile is affected by another Cane of Mago.
Trivia
- A Weaponsmith can treat a Cane of Mago as a material for the purpose of combining its effects with other materials or treasures into one weapon. For determining how many materials the Weaponsmith can craft into one item, treat this item as though it had a set cost of 15 rupees.
- The Cane of Mago treasure is an original creation by one of Hyrule Castle's members. Its concept is credited to Guy.
