A given Mirror Shield can vary widely in appearance, but always has a mystical and inexplicable reflective coating on the exterior. This coating is capable of perfectly reflecting not only light, but magical projectiles, and sending them back at their caster. Specifically, this includes any projectile created by a spell or magical item.
A skilled Weaponsmith can forge a Mirror Shield from a material known as Mirror Silver. Using the same material, an Outfitter can construct gauntlets with an identical function.
Trivia
- The Reflect and Mirror Shot spells can temporarily give a normal shield magic-reflecting properties similar to a Mirror Shield.
- Nayru's Affection can reflect projectiles, both magical and mundane.
- The Mirror Shield treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in Link's Awakening. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
