The length and force of the wave depends on the weapon and the user's reach (i.e., a spear will have a longer wave, a mace will have a blunt wave, and a sword will have a slicing wave), but generally the wave doubles the effective length of the weapon. Type | Offensive Technique |
Fields | Cut, Force, Hylian, WeaponBase |
Cost | Normal Cost P5: 40 rupees |
Spin Attack is an offensive technique, and a racial perk for Hylians. As such, a Hylian can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Hylian chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed cost.
After taking a second to focus their strength into their weapon, the user spins around once or twice in quick succession with their weapon outstretched. From the swung weapon is sent forth a potent wave of force in all directions around the user. The length and force of the wave depends on the weapon and the user's reach (i.e., a spear will have a longer wave, a mace will have a blunt wave, and a sword will have a slicing wave), but generally the wave doubles the effective length of the weapon. If this technique is used in mid-air, the user will be suddenly propelled upwards several feet. If multiple practitioners of this technique stand back-to-back and unleash it simultaneously, their weapon waves will combine force and stack on top of one another, extending their reach and force.

Highest Cost P5: 90 rupees |
The user can gain the Hurricane Spin augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. After focusing his strength into his weapon, the user can continue focusing for a total of at least five seconds, causing his weapon to glow brightly. While focusing in this manner, the user's sight and hearing are dulled, and the user is virtually incapable of movement. At any point after the five second period has passed, the user can unleash his focused power to spin at insane speeds for approximately ten full seconds. During this period of rapid spinning, the propulsion coming from the user's weapon can be used to spin across the ground as fast as the user would be able to sprint, all while performing Spin Attacks in immediate, rapid succession. The Hurricane Spin's power is overwhelming and difficult to control, causing the user to often spin out off-course. Any creature not guarding carefully against this attack from every side, or not dodging it completely, will almost assuredly be slain.
After the Hurricane Spin finishes, the user will be completely dazed for at least five seconds. During this duration, he will be completely unable to fight, and barely able to even stand or clearly seeing his surroundings. If he is not yet used to this technique, or not in peak condition, using this technique may impose further physical strain.

Low Cost P5: 30 rupees |
The user has become so proficient in the Spin Attack technique that the energy wave is extended by up to three times its length. This augment is known as the Great Spin and is proof that they have effectively mastered the Spin Attack technique—with a rare few going on to learn the Hurricane Spin.
Trivia
- The Deku Pirouette is a similar offensive technique which attacks by spinning, but doesn't require a weapon to be used.
- The Spin Attack treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in A Link to the Past. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki.
