Bomb Bag | |
---|---|
Type | Offensive Mechanical Item |
Fields | Bomb, Goron, Stock |
Cost | High Cost P5: 55 rupees |
The Bomb Bag treasure is an offensive, mechanical item. It appears as small satchel, comparable in size to a honeydew or small watermelon, which can be attached to a belt or backpack. At any given time, the user can reach into this sack to inexplicably pull out a fist-sized bomb, which is already lit with a fuse normally lasting about five seconds. When the fuse runs out, the bomb will explode violently. It will also explode with a phenomenally hard impact (harder than most people can throw), or intense heat, as from flames. With proper preparation, the user can make a bomb with a longer or shorter fuse, or pull out a bomb which isn't automatically lit. Neither the bag, nor anything inside it, will explode from exposure to heat or impacts.
Strangely, this sack only functions when an individual bomb is pulled out one at a time. The user cannot simply dump out the would-be contents of the sack, and cannot pull out another bomb until either the last bomb has detonated or five seconds have passed.
This treasure is a racial perk for Gorons. As such, a Goron can choose to gain it as a perk upon character creation. If a Goron chooses to gain this perk at some point after creation, the perk costs 15 rupees less than the listed cost.
An individual bomb, outside of the Bomb Bag, can be acquired for a set cost of 5 rupees. An individual bomb is a SingleUse treasure, and as such, it can only be used once.

Enchanted Bombs
An elemental enchantment can be applied to a bomb, causing the explosion to detonate with the power of the chosen enchantment. The user must have the appropriate enchantment spell in her possession to enchant the bomb, and the normal limits on using the enchantment apply. Specifically, any one of the following enchantments can be used, if the user possesses it:
- Fire Enchantment: causes a particularly fiery explosion
- Force Enchantment or Wind Enchantment: causes a particularly concussive blast, blowing back those caught in the blast zone
- Ice Enchantment: causes a magically cold enchantment, capable of freezing those in the blast zone
- Light Enchantment: causes a blindingly bright explosion, dealing Light damage to those in the blast zone
- Shadow Enchantment: causes an eerily dark explosion, dealing Shadow damage to those in the blast zone
- Shock Enchantment: causes an explosion of electric sparks, electrocuting those in the blast zone
Augments
The user can gain the Bomb Arrow, Blast Coating, Jelly Bomb, Landmine, Powder Charge, Remote Bomb or Water Bomb augment simultaneously with the original treasure for an additional cost, or as a separate treasure at a later time. A character can have any number of these augments, but can generally only apply one augment to any single bomb.
Bomb Arrow

Additional Fields |
Enchant, Projectile, WeaponBase |

Lower Cost P5: 20 rupees |
A user with the Bomb Arrow technique can use a Bomb in a new way. The user can swiftly attach one of his Bombs to the tip of an arrow, crossbow bolt, or similar fired projectile. Providing one hand handles the Bomb, and the other hand handles the projectile, this process takes less than a second, allowing it to be aimed a moment later. The arrow can then be fired, and unleashes as a Bomb-equivalent explosion on impact. Because of the added weight, the projectile may be somewhat front-heavy.
Blast Coating
Blast Coating | |
---|---|
Additional Fields |
Enchant |
Additional Cost |
Lower Cost P5: 20 rupees |
A user with the Blast Coating technique can use a Bomb in a new way. Using the powder from one of his Bombs, the user delicately applies it to the tip of a weapon, or other surface, in a particular way. When the surface next strikes an object with enough force, it will explode with roughly half the force of a normal Bomb, causing boosted damage and consuming the powder applied. The process of adding this powder is quite delicate, and takes roughly one minute to do so properly.
The strain of the explosion can damage the weapon. A weapon or surface made of steel will likely survive one blast without impact, but multiple blasts in less than few minutes' time will likely destroy it. A more delicate weapon, as one made from wood or straw, may be destroyed outright. An extraordinarily durable weapon, such as one made form Goron Iron, may suffer no damage even from repeated blasts.
Jelly Bomb

Additional Fields |
Enchant |
Additional Cost |
Lower Cost C5: 20 rupees |
A user with the Jelly Bomb augment can produce a Bomb coated with a specially adhesive substance. This is usually done by preparing Bombs ahead of time with a special chemical mixture, but can also be used to magically enchant the Bomb as it is pulled out. In either case, the Bomb becomes extremely sticky once it leaves the user's grasp. It is capable of sticking to walls, ceilings, and even shields. Monsters stuck with a Jelly Bomb tend to have a difficult time removing it without either water, or some sort of implement which can be used to pry off the explosive.
Landmine
Landmine | |
---|---|
Additional Fields |
Trap |
Additional Cost |
Low Cost P5: 30 rupees |
A user with the Landmine augment is capable of producing a Bomb which has been previously modified to take instead the shape of a landmine. A landmine is circular metal device a few inches high and roughly a foot in diameter that can be rigged to be either pressure sensitive (detonated when stepped on) or proximity sensitive (detonated when the ground quakes nearby). Once planted by the user, the device will arm itself within a few seconds, but can be rigged to be armed up to 60 seconds after being planted. Once the landmine is armed, it can be detonated when provoked When triggered, a landmine will explode with a power equal to a standard Bomb, the explosion focused vertically upwards. It is possible for several mines to be placed in close proximity, potentially dealing even greater damage to the target(s).
Powder Charge

Additional Fields |
Trap |
Additional Cost |
Low Cost C5: 30 rupees |
A user with the Powder Charge technique can use a Bomb to create a Powder Charge. A Powder Charge must be prepared beforehand, requiring at least one minute, and generally cannot be prepared during battle due to the volatile nature of the Powder Charge. The Powder Charge itself appears is a tiny packet, which essentially concentrates all the ingredients of a bomb into a small, highly-volatile container. The charge can be used in various ways; as a trip mine, as a remotely detonated mine (via a string), as an attachment to a projectile, etc.
Remote Bomb
Remote Bomb | |
---|---|
Additional Fields |
Control |
Additional Cost |
Low Cost W5: 30 rupees |
A user with the Remote Bomb augment is capable of producing bombs which lack a fuse entirely, but can instead be detonated telepathically. Once the Bomb is produced, the user can mentally trigger it to detonate at point within the next five minutes or so. This mental trigger is only capable of affecting up to three separate bombs, all of which must be triggered simultaneously.
Water Bomb
Water Bomb | |
---|---|
Additional Fields |
Water |
Additional Cost |
Lowest Cost C5: 10 rupees |
A user with this augment can produce Bombs from his Bomb Bag which continue to function underwater, their fuses remaining lit. Such Bombs may have aesthetic changes, and often are designed to resemble aquatic creatures or are adorned with scales, but are otherwise functionally identical to regular Bombs. Water Bombs can be used in tandem with any other augments to the Bomb Bag.
Trivia
- A Powder Keg Supply can provide the user with a supply of much larger and powerful bombs, but also has as much higher price.
- Much less expensive Mini Bombs can be used to create smaller, less damaging explosions.
- A less costly Bomb Flower can also be used to produce bombs, but a Bomb Flower is stationary.
- The Bomb Bag treasure canonically appears in the Zelda series, initially in The Legend of Zelda. More information about the canonical version of this treasure can likely be found on Zelda Wiki. Bomb Arrow first appeared in Link's Awakening, Remote Bombs intially appeared in The Minish Cap, and Water Bombs initially appeared in Twilight Princess.
- Blast Coating and Powder Charge were both original creations of one of Hyrule Castle's members, WillowtheWhisp.
- Jelly Bomb and Landmine Supply were original creations of Ribitta.
